URGENT ACTION: Gaza Demonstration and Rally dates across the UK‏

URGENT ACTION: National Demonstration:
London Saturday 3 January

'If only we had been with you, for we would have been victorious.'

The world watched by while Imam Hussain (as) and his blessed family were slaughtered in Karbala, and we wonder how? Did anyone doubt his truthfulness? Did anyone doubt Yazid's injustice? Did anyone doubt the crime taking place?

And the world watches by while the children of Gaza are slaughtered, and does anyone doubt the injustice of this crime? In the age of live television, we watch the 5 young girls being pulled from the under the same home, and who will answer their call?

The followers of Imam Mahdi (ajf) are those who will stand up to injustice wherever it is, for the silent are complicit in the crime.

The time has come to act now; the least we can do is voice our disgust at this crime, make a stand in our masses to show the world that we will not be silent, and to show our Imam (ajf) that we are ready.

Worldwide protest is putting increased pressure on governments, and the demonstrations in London have left authorities overtaken by the turnout. 1000's have hit the streets this week.

Gaza Demonstration and Rally dates across the UK‏

Details of daily demonstrations in London and actions around the country>>

Join the demonstration - message from Tony Benn

The Israeli Government, armed and supported by President Bush, with its savage attack on the people of Gaza now represents the greatest threat to security in the Middle East and the world peace movement is mobilizing on a massive scale to defeat this aggression.
I appeal to everyone who can possibly do so to attend the many demonstrations that are being held here so that the British government is left in no doubt as to the strength of opposition there is to this war.

Israel has launched a terror bombing against the people of Gaza, with over 350 dead and many more injured.

Not content after 3 days of devastating slaughter, the Israeli government promises more barbarity to come.

The head of the Israeli military says, "This is only the beginning". Ministers have promised a 'Palestinian holocaust'

The people of Gaza are asking, if this is only the beginning, what will the end look like?

An eye witness describes what happens when the world's fourth most heavily armed nation rains down such devastation on the civilians of the world's most densely populated area:

"People are going through the dead terrified of recognizing a family member among them. The streets are strewn with their bodies, their arms, legs, feet, some with shoes and some without? Hospitals and morgues cannot cope and some of the dead are still lying in the streets with their families gathered around them, kissing their faces, holding on to them. Outside the destroyed buildings old men are kneeling on the floor weeping. Their slim hopes of finding their sons still alive vanished after taking one look at what had become of their office buildings."

Protests against these atrocities have already taken place across the world with two big demonstrations in London, called at the shortest notice, blocking the roads to the Israeli Embassy.

Now a national emergency demonstration in London has been organised for Saturday 3 January. Called by Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Stop the War Coalition, British Muslim Initiative and many more organisations, the demonstration will assemble at 12:30pm at Embankment, WC2.

We need to mobilise in the largest possible numbers for the emergency demonstration. Gordon Brown needs to be reminded that Tony Blair's support for Israel's attack on Lebanon in 2006 lead to him being forced from office. The British government must call for the bombing to stop now and for an end to Israel's illegal blockade of Gaza over the past year, which has inflicted near starvation and lack of essential resources on its people.

Please do all you can to mobilise for the emergency demonstration:

  • Spread the word as widely as you can among your friends, neighbours, work colleagues, fellow students.
  • Download the demonstration flyer from the Stop the War website, photocopy or print it, distribute it as widely as you can: http://tinyurl.com/97udra
  • Take leaflets to your local community centre, mosque, church, etc. Help leaflet tube and bus stations.

If Britain was Gaza... 16,000 dead in four days

In the last four days, Israel has slaughtered close to 400 Palestinians in Gaza, which has a population of one and a half million. The same terror bombing of Britain, with a population of 60 million, would kill 16,000 in four days. If Britain was Gaza, Israel would be condemned by the whole world for monstrous crimes against humanity. Where is the outrage from the so called "international community" when this level of barbarity is suffered by the defenceless people of Gaza? Join Saturday's demonstration.

Imam Khamenei: Muslims Must Break the Silence

ImageLeader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei issued a statement Sunday on the horrendous tragedy of Gaza bloodbath in the hand of the Zionists, strongly condemning the heinous complicity of the criminal Bush's regime with the Zionists, adding that the silence of some international bodies and some Arab states provided for the crimes
